An Indian court has reportedly rejected a filing by Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) protesting against its exclusion in an equipment tender being floated by state-owned mobile operator, BSNL.

China's Huawei and ZTE experienced the greatest rate of vendor growth in the mobile network equipment market during the first quarter of 2009 according to research firm Dell'Oro Group, almost doubling their combined share of the total infrastructure market to over 20 percent compared to the same quarter last year.

Chinese equipment and handset vendor ZTE has secured a US$10 billion credit line from China Exim Bank, its second such deal with a Chinese bank this year. In a statement, ZTE said it has entered into "a strategic bank-enterprise cooperation relationship" that will see China Exim Bank support ZTE's international expansion plans.

ZTE is to build UMTS networks for Skytel in Mongolia and Spice Nepal, according to Telecompaper.

Chinese vendors are reportedly the big winners in China Mobile's third-round 3G network expansion tender worth CNY8.6 billion (US$1.26 billion). According to Reuters, ZTE has won 34 percent of the deal for the latest supply of TD-SCDMA kit, whilst Huawei grabbed 22 percent and Datang won 21 percent.

Alcatel-Lucent has confirmed that a consortium involving its Chinese arm, Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell, and local partner Datang Mobile has been selected by China Mobile for deployment of the mobile operator's third-phase TD-SCDMA 3G mobile network rollout across 11 provinces.

China Mobile - the world's largest operator - appears to be continuing its struggle to sign up 3G subscribers to networks based on its domestically developed technology, TD-SCDMA.
