PRESS RELEASE: With the vigorous development of the global digital economy, the demand for FTTH network construction is increasingly on the rise.

According to Grand View Research, the global fiber to the home (FTTH) market size was estimated at USD 47.04 billion in 2022 and is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.6% from 2023 to 2030, with Europe and Latin America standing out as notable representatives among the regions. Meanwhile, analysis indicates that the investment trend in digital transformation within network services is showing a significant upward trajectory. Against this backdrop, operators are confronted with challenges posed by complex business scenarios and urgently need all-scenario and end-to-end digital solutions to efficiently construct the OSP (Outside Plant)/ODN (Optical Distribution Network) in numerous scenarios, such as survey and design, progress visualization, and document generation. However, most existing software systems in the market currently only provide partial digital functionalities and lack comprehensive end-to-end digital solutions that cover all network deployment scenarios, which has become one of the technical bottlenecks hindering the upgrade of FTTH network construction.

As a global leading provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, ZTE actively promotes the digital and intelligent transformation in the network deployment and operation, helping global partners embrace the new era of digital intelligence. In the field of OSP/ODN network construction, challenges such as complex business scenarios and varying management granularity make it difficult to achieve end-to-end online management of multi-dimensional delivery objects in areas such as planning progress, construction data collection, quality management, and document acceptance. This results in significant difficulties in project management and low delivery efficiency. ZTE’s intelligent Engineering Project Management System (iEPMS) provides end-to-end digital management capabilities in OSP/ODN construction scenarios, effectively supporting the realization of data analysis for surveys, automated network design optimization, real-time progress planning, tracking, and quality assessment based on GIS maps and AI algorithms, as well as compliance document management. Thereby, it facilitates efficient FTTH network construction.

ZTE iEPMS integrates high-order GIS map data with operations research algorithms to achieve optimal route planning. In terms of network design, utilizing topology graph theory, it provides a cost-effective solution that automatically generates the High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) tailored to the customer’s specific network technical solution and specifications, thereby improving the design document output efficiency and design accuracy. In terms of construction management, the GIS geographical information visualization tool integrates the functions of marking locations, drawing point-line connections, and binding work orders in the form of maps. Based on the input of existing network information, survey data, technical solutions, and design specifications, the tool implements visual distribution and hierarchical layer management of multi-dimensional deliverables, implements end-to-end online operation from self-survey design to network acceptance on the web or APP, and supports visual management of multi-scenario and multi-dimensional delivery objects of external network engineering. In 2024, the iEPMS system was deeply applied in OSP projects in Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa, and other countries, effectively supporting service partners in visualized end-to-end management of HP (Homepass).

In addition, based on the high adaptable automatic document generation capability of the iEPMS system, documents can be automatically generated by collecting data of work orders. The system supports customized typesetting to meet the diverse document template requirements of different customers. The electronic seal and online document approval functions significantly shorten the document review period and improve the network delivery and acceptance efficiency. In a project in a Latin American country, based on the data collected online by using the iEPMS electronic survey and quality work order, 100% of the data is automatically generated into project survey reports and project completion documents, which are delivered to customers for acceptance with high quality. The document production efficiency is improved by 90% and the one-off accuracy rate reaches 100%.

In the future, ZTE digital and intelligent global service construction will be guided by the long-term evolution principle, with a deep integration of AI capabilities to drive innovation and progress. By leveraging higher-quality data accumulation, enhancing energy-efficient computing power, conducing differentiated scenario analysis, and flexibly combining various models, the system’s intelligence can be expanded from single scenarios to multiple scenarios, thereby facilitating the digital and intelligent development of the industry.
