Twitter launched a children’s version of its popular video app Vine, which will only show content appropriate for a young audience.
The app, which allows users to upload short, six-second clips, is available on iOS and came about as a result of a hack week held at Vine, following feedback from “parents, siblings and others”.
The kid’s version features “adorable animated characters”.
“Swiping right or left shows a new Vine, and you can tap the screen to hear quirky sounds,” wrote Carolyn Penner, head of communications and marketing, on the company’s blog.
Vine, launched by Twitter in January 2013, said in August last year that its videos are watched by more than 100 million people a month, and since April 2014 have been played 347.2 billion times.
