Vodafone is expected to be confirmed the new owner of Ghana Telecom by 2 July according to Ghana’s newspaper The Daily Guide, citing Ministry of Finance sources. Vodafone is said to have concluded government negotiations to acquire a 66.7 percent stake in the state-owned telecom incumbent which had been tabled for privatisation since last year. It is reported the deal is worth US$960 million. In separate news, Vodafone Germany and its fixed network subsidiary Arcor will integrate their executive management structures as of 1 August. Vodafone Germany’s CEO, Friedrich Joussen, will also be Arcor’s CEO.
