Swedish ‘flat-pack’ furniture retailer IKEA is to launch mobile, fixed-line Internet and mobile broadband services in Spain, reports Telecompaper. According to local Spanish newspaper El Economista, IKEA will launch as an MVNO using Vodafone Spain’s mobile network, offer ADSL services via Telefonica, and mobile broadband via BT. The MVNO – reportedly to be called ‘Ventaja Movil’ (‘Mobile Advantage’) – will cost EUR10 per month, and customers will receive free mobile calls, with no call set-up fee, within the operator’s network. National calls to other mobile networks will be charged at EUR0.10 per minute, plus a call set-up fee of EUR0.15.

IKEA will also reportedly offer discounted prices on mobile phone purchases for customers who choose to port their mobile numbers to Ventaja Movil. The offer includes the Samsung J400, Samsung E250, and the Nokia 2630, 2760 and 5200 models. The ADSL deal will cost between EUR36.95 and EUR38.95 per month and offer speeds between 1Mb/s and 3Mb/s. The mobile broadband offering will use a USB modem from BT and offer 1.5GB of data usage for EUR35 a month.
