China’s Alibaba Group and Japanese operator SoftBank are in discussions about a bid to buy web company Yahoo, reports Bloomberg. The two companies are in talks with investment firms Blackstone Group and Bain Capital about making a joint offer, according to Bloomberg sources. Yahoo has received bids for a minority stake from TPG Capital while a group including Microsoft and led by private equity firm Silver Lake is also thought to have made an offer.
