The Associated Press said that the Nigerian government has cancelled the sale of state-run telecoms operator Nitel, after Oman International Consortium failed to pay its deposit for the business – with OIC being the second company to do this. Nitel owns the smallest mobile operator in the country, Mtel, which lags behind numerous competitors.
