China Unicom said South Korea’s SK Telecom will hold a 3.7 percent stake in the new company formed from its merger with China Netcom, reports Dow Jones Newswires. SK Telecom currently holds a 6.6 percent stake in China Unicom. Meanwhile China Netcom said that Spain’s Telefonica will hold a 2 percent stake in the merged entity, down from 5 percent.
