US operator Verizon Wireless has agreed to acquire 20Mhz of advanced wireless spectrum from broadband and entertainment provider Cox Communications for US$315 million. The spectrum covers around 28 million people but does not include Cox’s 700Mhz spectrum. The deal is still subject to approval by the Federal Communications Commission and other customary conditions.
