Mobile point-of-sale firm SumUp launched Air Register, an all-in-one package that includes an updated NFC card reader from the firm.
The offer is pitched at point of sale software providers who want to extend their hardware portfolio.
“Over the last year, we have experienced huge demand from tablet-based cash register providers to be able to connect their apps with our open payments platform,” said Daniel Klein, SumUp’s CEO.
The result is Air Register, including an NFC card reader which sports a glass surface and capacitive keypad that accepts chip, magnetic stripe cards and contactless payments including Apple Pay and Android Pay.
In addition, the package includes an iPad mini to use with any POS register software integrated with the SumUp payments platform; a receipt printer; and a wooden case.
