Sweden's Ericsson - the world's largest mobile infrastructure vendor - today announced it has won a deal to supply China Unicom with 3G WCDMA kit in 15 provinces.

Brazilian telecoms operator Telemar Norte Leste - better known as 'Oi' - has secured a loan worth US$300 million from China Development Bank, the company said in a statement last week.

StarHub has switched on its HSPA+ network in Singapore, in partnership with vendor Huawei.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Chinese vendor Huawei is making in-roads in the US, having won a contract to supply the network infrastructure for a mobile service that cable-TV provider Cox Communications plans to launch in some markets later this year.
