Microsoft submitted a request to a US federal court in Seattle to prevent Motorola Mobility enforcing a potential injunction from an upcoming German court decision, reports FOSS Patents. The Mannheim Regional Court will soon rule on a case brought by Motorola accusing Microsoft of infringing two patents allegedly essential to the H.264 video codec standard. The US court could stop Motorola enforcing the injunction while a case in which Microsoft sued Motorola in November 2010 for breach of its FRAND licensing commitments is pending, the report said.
