France Telecom has joined Turkcell in bidding for a license to provide fixed and 2G/3G mobile services in Tunisia, notes Telecompaper. The winning company will compete with Tunisie Telecom in fixed-line and Internet services, and with Tunisie Telecom and Orascom Telecom in mobile. The 15-year license is due to be awarded at the end of June, with services expected to start in January 2010.
