Nortel Networks has confirmed Avaya as the successful bidder for its Enterprise Solutions Business division. Avaya will pay US$900 million in cash to Nortel. The sale is subject to court approvals in the US, Canada, France and Israel as well as regulatory approvals, and follows the Canadian company’s decision to sell off its most successful divisions following its filing for bankruptcy protection in January. Ericsson was the winning bidder of Nortel’s key CDMA and LTE access assets in an auction last July.
