Mobile data industry management consultancy The Besen Group offered a top tip to systems integrators targeting growth in private networks in Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America; become an MVNO.
The US-headquartered practice stated systems integrators are in a prime position in private networking due to their existing close relationships with CIOs, which it explained provides them with a deeper understanding of enterprises connectivity needs.
Alex Besen, founder and CEO of The Besen Group, named systems integrators as the “most important partners for enterprises deploying private networks”.
“Since system integrators do not own any licensed spectrum, we recommend that they explore MVNO business models and off total turnkey solutions” focused on “mission critical use cases”.
On the up
Recent figures from research companies indicates a growing opportunity for the private networking sector as a whole.
Last month, Rethink Technology Research stated “progress is being made” after a “turbulent” two-years in which enterprise adoption of private mobile networks had been “slower than most had hoped”.
It noted Wi-Fi remained a “strong indoor rival to even the most advanced 5G installations” and predicted the overall sector would generate revenue of $7.2 billion in 2029.
This week, KBV Research predicted revenue from private 4G and 5G installations would grow at a CAGR of 20.7 per cent between 2023 and 2031, when the total is expected to hit $33.4 billion.
The company’s figures indicate North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific would remain the top three markets at the end of its forecast period.
