Italian operator Wind has contracted Huawei for the rollout of HSPA and LTE platforms, in addition to core network and fibre-optic infrastrucutre. According to Telegeography, Wind will adopt Huawei’s integrated multi-standard platform SingleRAN. This project will cover seven regions in Italy and the new adopted transmission standards will be HSPA+, LTE and IP- ready. Huawei also announced today it will deploy a nationwide ‘2G/3G/4G’ mobile network for Latvian operator BITE, including core network and radio access network equipment.
