PRESS RELEASE: Recently, Dr. Wen Tong, CTO of Huawei Wireless, delivered a speech at the Abu Dhabi 6G Summit, addressing the design and evolution of the 6G core network. During his speech, Dr. Tong introduced A-Core, a groundbreaking 6G core network powered by Agentic-AI technology, which will seamlessly integrate application creation with customized network generation and redefine the role of telecom operators, offering them new business opportunities beyond traditional connectivity.

In Dr. Wen Tong’s view, 6G is the AI-driven evolution, progressing from Large Language Models (LLMs) to AI agents, Artificial General Intelligence  (AGI), and ultimately connected AGI. The ultimate goal of 6G development is to achieve connected intelligence. This vision anticipates AI being embedded in 90% of businesses, outperforming over 90% of human experts, and contributing to 90% of global economic output. Therefore, the end-to-end design of the 6G network should be transformative and embrace AI revolution. For the 6G core, Agentic-AI based technology should be considered to re-architect the 6G core, which forms the foundation of A-Core.

In his speech, Dr. Wen Tong highlighted the motivations and new value propositions of A-Core for telecom operators.

Foremost, A-Core transforms telecom operators’ roles. It leverages Agentic-AI to enable the automatic generation of APPs, allowing operators to re-enter the APP creation business rather than merely supporting Over-the-Top (OTT) services. In the meantime, by utilizing advancements in generative networks, A-Core tailors network configurations to meet the specific needs of applications, thereby enhancing performance and user experience directly and efficiently, so to enhance the operators’ connection and collaboration with app services.

In addition, A-Core can introduce new business models for operators, unlocking additional monetization opportunities. Firstly, A-Core can enable operators to build and deliver unique APPs directly to users, monetizing in-house tailored APPs for users; Secondly, with A-Core platform, operators can combine multiple OTT services with added-value for users, creating new revenue streams from user payments; thirdly, by utilizing A-core, operators can offer customized generative-network services through open APIs, thereby generating revenue from API usage.

Furthermore, from the perspective of OTT providers, A-Core also presents significant benefits, such as improved QoS (Quality of Service) and security through customized networks, as well as compliance with local data regulations.

Concluding his speech, Dr. Wen Tong highlighted his vision for the new core network in 6G era: “A-Core bridges the gap between connectivity and applications, empowering telecom operators to build further competitiveness in the industry. With its capabilities for generative app creation and tailored networks, A-Core unlocks new revenue streams, redefines the value chain, and positions operators as central players in the 6G ecosystem.”
