Taipei-based Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute believes that volume shipments of Android smartphones will reach 6.5 million units in 2009, growing to 31.8 million units in 2013. Overall shipments of Android-equipped products is forecast to reach 126 million units in 2013 as the Android platform becomes adopted in PC-like products, portable devices and residential products.
