The European mobile TV market has experienced momentum today. First up, Dutch operator KPN has launched nationwide services based on DVB-H technology and kit from Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks.

Reuters reports that Apple has issued a software update for the iPhone 3G device to help fix connection problems that led to complaints from around the world.

Norway's Telenor has hinted that it could sell its stake in Russia's VimpelCom in order to settle its long-running dispute with Alfa Group, the other main VimpelCom shareholder.

Apple has reportedly secured deals with Russia's three major operators to supply the iPhone. Reuters cites a source stating the device will go on sale from largest operator MTS from October.

VimpelCom, Russia's second-largest mobile operator, said yesterday it has signed a distribution deal with Apple to sell iPhone 3G in the country, reports Reuters. Rival operators MTS and MegaFon are also rumoured to have signed deals.

Shyam Telelink has secured its pan-Indian CDMA spectrum, according to a Business Standard report. The move sees the start-up operator - majority owned by Russian congolomerate Sistema - set to launch services in 21 circles.
