TeleGeography notes that French telecoms regulatory authority Arcep has advised the government it will start the process of awarding the country’s fourth and final 3G license in June this year. According to its president, Jean-Claude Mallet, the decree formalising the procedure should be published at the end of March. A lot of 1x5MHz will cost EUR206 million, he said. The conditions for awarding bids for the two remaining frequency lots will be published before the end of June.
