Sony is still committed to its mobile handset joint-venture with Sweden’s Ericsson and has no plans to divest its stake in Sony Ericsson, a Sony spokesman told Dow Jones Newswires today. The comments came as the handset vendor said last week it expects a first-quarter pretax loss of between EUR340 million to EUR390 million, wider than consensus estimates for a pretax loss of EUR151 million.
