Taiwanese publication DigiTimes reports that HTC is looking to ship 8.5 million smartphones in the fourth quarter of 2010, up from 7 million in Q3, bolstered by the introduction of new Android and Windows Phone 7 devices. The target is more conservative than some “market expectations,” in the 9—10 million range, due to constraints resulting from component shortages.
