According to Droid Life, Google’s mobile wallet service can now be accessed by users of AT&T’s version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the NFC-based smartphone on which mobile payments can be made. The website says an app for Google Wallet has become available in the Android Market for AT&T users of the smartphone. Previously only users of Sprint’s version of the Galaxy Nexus were able to access the Google Wallet service. That handset is called the Samsung Nexus S 4G. Sprint is a partner of Google’s in its wallet service. The three other leading mobile operators (AT&T, Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile USA) have formed the Isis mobile payment service which will launch later this year. Droid Life says Verizon has not made a Google Wallet app available for users of its version of the Galaxy Nexus.
