US operator AT&T has pushed back the closing date for its proposed US$39 billion acquisition of T-Mobile USA by three months to the middle of 2012, reports the Wall Street Journal. The deal is under intense regulatory scrutiny after the US Department of Justice and rival operator Sprint Nextel filed suits to block the deal. The proposed acquisition of a block of spectrum from Qualcomm has also been put back, according to an AT&T regulatory filing.
