The Telecoms Regulatory Authority of India said that there had been 3.8 million number portability requests by the end of February 2011, following initial availability on 20 January 2011. It said that “in view of the large number of rejections and complaints,” it is in the process of verifying the process undertaken by service providers on a sample bases.
