Samsung said it will invest US$4 billion in its existing chip plant in Austin, Texas, to boost production of chips used in smartphones and tablets, reports Reuters. Samsung makes chips for Apple devices as well as its own products and was reported in January to be planning to spend US$6.5 billion on mobile chip production in 2012.
