The US Federal Trade Commission has opened a formal probe into whether Motorola Mobility is honouring its commitment to licensing some of its patents on a fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory basis, Bloomberg reported. The watchdog is said to have contacted companies including Apple and Motorola to discuss the practices of the Google subsidiary. The European Commission has already opened a similar investigation.
