Inside Secure has been chosen by a partnership of French public bodies to supply an NFC-based system for home care services in France.
Homecare visitors will be equipped with NFC-based smartphones with which they can make quick updates of administrative, financial or management data related to each visit they make. The service is particularly geared to home visits for the elderly who are equpped with NFC ID card which is scanned by carers.
The resulting data is then uploaded to a central database via the 3G network. The aim is to save time and reduce errors by collecting data in this way.
The vendor is supplying NFC technology to an e-health project called Confiance whose brief is to improve the management of services for dependent people who live at home, particularly the elderly.
However, the timing and extent of the system's deployment is unclear.
The project is a partnership between Docapost, a digital transactions company owned by La Poste, France’s postal service, and Abrapa, a social welfare association. The partnership is financed by the French government.
