AT&T announced a partnership with family welfare information service Common Media, to enable parents to decide what apps, games and other digital content services their children can access. Common Sense Media produces reviews and recommendations for parents to use when deciding what their children can access.
The initial collaboration will see parents have access to content via the Common Sense Media mobile application, with Common Sense reviews and ratings eventually being incorporated into other AT&T services.
“Mobile devices are a fantastic way for kids to stay connected with their parents, collaborate with their peers, and explore the world; but with that kind of power comes responsibility. With so many choices available, parents need real guidance to help them surface high quality and appropriate apps for their kids,” said Amy Guggenheim Shenkan, president and COO of Common Sense Media.
Mark Collins, senior VP for data and voice products, mobility and consumer markets at AT&T, said: “Providing our customers with the tools they need to make the right decision for their family about content, services and more is important to us.”
