AFP said that Microsoft has to pay Alcatel-Lucent US$70 million following a patent infringement suit, reduced from the previous figure of US$358 million following an appeal from the US computing giant. Microsoft was found to have infringed a patent held by Lucent Technologies between 2003 and 2006, in versions of Windows Mobile as well as other products.
