More than two million Zimbabwean SIM cards have been disconnected after users failed to register their ownership details with the country’s mobile operators, reports Cellular News. The regulator, Potraz, announced that 1.4 million Econet users have been disconnected while 700,000 Telecel subscribers were also cut off. Potraz introduced the policy last year, but had to delay the cut-off date after less than a third of SIM cards had been registered by last September.
